Dehra Dun, Oct 07: The ruling Congress in Uttaranchal today sought an inquiry into a complaint by state industrial development minister Kishor Upadhyay that his telephones were being tapped. "An inquiry should be ordered into the complaint made by Upadhyay that his telephones are being tapped," party general secretary Dhirendra Pratap said here.
The demand came soon after Governor Sudershan Agarwal called for an explanation from the state government on the surveillance of Raj Bhavan.
Welcoming the suspension of a sub-inspector in the surveillance issue, Pratap described the entire episode as "unfortunate".
