LTTE keen to make up with India
Colombo, Aug 2: The Tamil Tigers are keen to `mend fences` with India, V Balakumaran, a senior leader of the political wing of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) said in Jaffna yesterday. He also assured that the rebels would not engage in any confrontation with New Delhi or work against its interests.
Colombo, Aug 2: The Tamil Tigers are keen to "mend fences" with India, V Balakumaran, a senior leader of the political wing of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) said in Jaffna yesterday. He also assured that the rebels would not engage in any confrontation with New Delhi or work against its interests.
Expressing confidence that India would soon come to know the true position of the rebels, he said that if India comes forward to improve its relationship with sincere heart, LTTE is prepared to consider it.
Assuring not to engage in activities that could
disrupt the regional politics of India, Balakumaran said that he personally welcomed the stand taken by the Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha against the proposal for constructing a bridge between India and Sri Lanka.
