Multan, Mar 27: The battery of Pakistani fast bowlers, which received a pounding from the Indian batsmen in the one-day series, may find some assistance from the wicket being prepared for the first Test beginning here on Sunday.
The Indian team had its first sight of the track this morning when they came for net practice. Most of the players headed straight to the middle to have a look at the 22-yard strip prepared for the match.

The track had a lot of grass in the morning but by late afternoon the groundsmen had started cutting it under the watchful eyes of the chief curator who has promised to provide a sporting wicket.

Some grass, which was dry in nature, could be left on the track to give some assistance to the bowlers who cut a sorry figure in the high-scoring one-day matches.
Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul Haq also said the wicket would be sporting and should provide equal chances to both teams.

"We have decided to have sporting wickets with equal chances to both sides, one day wickets were demoralising for the bowlers," he said. Bureau Report
