Mumbai: After advocating against the death penalty for 1993 blasts convict Yakub Memon, Salman Khan faced protest outside his residence here.

Salman had tweeted that it should be Tiger who should be hanged, and not his younger brother Yakub.


Yakub who is a convict in the 1993 Mumbai blast case was defended by Salman.


Khan further claimed that Yakub's absconding elder brother Tiger Memon should be hanged instead.


His tweets have drawn severe flak from different quarters and political parties including the BJP and Shiv Sena have condemned Khan's remarks.


However, after the uproar and condemnation outside Salman's house post his tweets, he has now issued an 'unconditional' apology on Twitter.
