Islamabad, Jan 17: Setting the stage for Wednesday's Secretary-level talks, Joint Secretary in External Affairs Ministry Arun Singh held parleys with Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar in Islamabad. Officials said the meeting was a prelude to the talks Khokhar would hold with Indian Foreign Secretary Shashank after two days of Joint Secretary-level parleys to discuss the modalities for the composite dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir. Singh met Khokhar before going for the second day of talks with Jalil Abbas Jilani, Director General for South Asia in Pakistan Foreign Office, at the hill station Murree, about 50 km from Islamabad. The three-day talks to finalise agenda, structure modalities and time frame for the composite dialogue agreed to by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and President Pervez Musharraf in Islamabad last month, began on Monday. The discussions have so far mainly focussed on the modalities and time frame for the resumption of peace talks. Bureau Report
