Rajendra Babu today said there should be no wall between the
society and judges.
"Judges do not operate in a vacuum. There should be no
wall between judges and the society", he said in his address,
inaugurating a two-day seminar on judicial values and ethics
at Karnataka judicial academy here.
Calling upon trainee judicial officers to uphold ethics
and values, Justice Rajendra Babu emphasised that judges
should have no prejudices in court hall, where there should be
no injustice.
He said there should no compromise on absolute integrity
by judges, who also should have an anxiety to do justice.
Underscoring on judicial accountability, independence and objectivity, he said judges should discharge their duties in such a manner that it instills confidence among the public in judiciary.
The chief justice sought to impress upon the judicial officers not to seek greener pastures but remain in judiciary, pointing out that even though monetary compensation may not be high for them, the level of job satisfaction they get is incomparable.
Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Justice N K Jain asked the judges to discharge their duties with conscience.
