Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, Feb 07: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today sought one more term in office to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya, even as he suggested that dialogue was the only way to resolve the vexed issue. Addressing a public rally at the airstrip here after inaugurating a railway line and railway bridge, Vajpayee observed the ``much cherished`` dream of a Ram temple at Ayodhya was still to be realised, and sought five more years to accomplish the task. ``I do not want to drive political mileage out of the issue...It is the aspiration of people who want a temple,`` he added. The Prime Minister said court and dialogue were the only options available to solve the tangle. But at the same time, he added, the court could take a long time in settling the issue. ``It is difficult to predict when will a solution be found through that means,`` he added. The Prime Minister suggested that the issue could be resolved through `sadbhawana (harmony)` and advocated it should be settled through mutual dialogue in a peaceful manner. ``This is my request to you,`` he added. Earlier, on his arrival at the Amausi Airport in Lucknow, Vajpayee in his brief interaction with the media had suggested a similar line. Earlier, addressing the gathering, former state chief minister Kalyan Singh, who rejoined the BJP on Tuesday, observed Hindus and Muslims should appreciate the fact that until the Ram temple was constructed, `Ram Rajya` could not be established in the country. The former chief minister, whose Rashtriya Kranti Party (RKP) merged with the BJP, today shared the podium with Vajpayee. Singh also took a dig on the congress by claiming the party lacked leadership. He also termed the congress as a sinking ship. ``The BJP on the other hand is seeking a fresh mandate on the developmental works it has carried out in the past over five years in power,`` he claimed. Others who spoke on the occasion included Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP state unit chief and Faizabad MP Vinay Katiyar. Bureau Report
