Paris, Sept 16: Frenchman Tarik Benhabiles, the former coach of US Open champion Andy Roddick, will work with French hopeful Richard Gasquet until the Australian Open at least, the French Tennis Federation has said.
Benhabiles and Roddick parted after this year's French Open while the promising Gasquet was struggling to live up to his outstanding potential in the senior ranks.
The 2002 world junior champion last year became the youngest player to win a Masters Series match when he tasted victory in Monte Carlo.
The FFT yesterday said Gasquet would take Benhabiles on as his coach for a trial period until January before deciding whether to continue with the former Davis Cup player, who has also trained Nicolas Escude.
