New Delhi, Apr 23: Lok Sabha today witnessed uproarious scenes when a visibly annoyed Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee took strong exception to a demand by Congress member Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi seeking suspension of question hour to take up the report of the standing committee on defence. As Dasmunsi sought to justify the need for suspending question hour saying the report had pulled up the defence ministry and there was need for immediate discussion on the issue, Vajpayee said, "This is a question hour and I don't know what we are doing during question hour. How will this house function like this? Why not observe some parliamentary norms?" Opposition members joined Dasmunsi in vehemently protesting Vajpayee's remarks.

Speaker Manohar Joshi rejected the notice by Dasmunsi saying he could raise the issue during zero hour.

The chair also rejected a notice by Ramjilal Suman (Samajwadi Party) on misuse of Pota. Bureau Report
