Kochi railway booking office staff to go on indefinite strike
Kochi, Nov 01: Employees of railway booking offices from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram have decided to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow, in protest against the arrest of two booking office staff at Kochi yesterday.

The booking office workers went on a lightning strike at Kochi yesterday.
Two railway clerks of the booking office at the south railway station were arrested today, following their alleged involvement in a ticket racket with a private travel agency.
The two were produced before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate court here.
The Southern Railway Mazdoor Union (SRMU), divisional secretary, C S Prasannakumar said that the strike would be indefinite. False cases were being foisted on the employees only to harass them, he said.
