New Delhi, Apr 26: Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna today said forest brigand Veerappan had been ``cornered`` and a close watch was being maintained on him. `Wwe are now dictating his pace of movement,`` the Chief Minister, who was here to finalise the state plan with the planning commission, told reporters. ``With a bit of luck, we will put an end to his (Veerappan`s) menace,`` Mr Krishna said.
He did not give further details about the whereabouts of Veerappan.
The Special Task Force (STF), set up to nab the criminal, was awaiting weapons from the Centre. The STF hoped that it would get priority in getting the weapons which were being imported for Karnataka and other states. Bureau Report
