Key American Centre conspirator had bought land at Hazaribagh
Kolkata, Sept 11: Jamaluddin Nasser, one of the alleged key conspirators in the january 22, 2002 terrorist attack on the American Center here had purchased a plot of land at Hazaribagh for residential purposes.

Appearing in the special court today, inside the presidency jail, trying terrorist mastermind Aftab Ansari and eight others in the case, prosecution witness Zahira Khatoon, said that she had sold the two Cottah plot on September 2001 to Jamaluddin.
Jamaluddin was the first to be arrested in the case on January 30, 2002. It was from his house at Tiljela in the eastern outskirts of the metropolis that the black motorcycle used in the terrorist attack and a blue Maruti car was seized the same day.
Incidentally, it was at Hazaribagh that two of the accused, Pakistani nationals Mohammed Idris alias Mohammed Zaheed and Salim both residents of Khanawal in Multan in Punjab province were shot dead in a fierce encounter with the police six days after the attack on the American Center.
Zahid, in his dying declaration, had confessed their involvement and that of Jamaluddin in the attack in Kolkata that left five policemen dead and a score injured. Bureau Report
