Ghaziabad, Sept 09: Portions of rail tracks where the Dehradun-New Delhi Janshatabdi derailed on Saturday have been sent for examination even as statutory inquiry begins into the mishap today. Railway chief engineer A P Mishra said pieces of the tracks are being examined to ascertain their "strength" in taking the traffic which had of late increased on the section.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Railway Safety G P Garg will today begin probe into the derailment which killed one person. He has been directed to submit his report within 15 days.
