New Delhi, July 02: Centre's interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir N N Vohra today said talks with the separatists, including the Hurriyat Conference, would be held in due course even as he prepared to leave for Laddakh for third round of talks with various groups.
Emerging after an hour-long meeting with Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani, Vohra told reporters that he would be
meeting all sections of the people, formulate their views and
present them to the government.
To a question whether he would be meeting the separatists and Hurriyat leaders during his mission, Vohra said "it will be done as their viewpoint is also to be heard."
Asked his reaction to the statement from Hurriyat that they would not be meeting any interlocutor of Centre, the former union home secretary said "we will comment only once we know that this is their final view."
"So far we are only trying to collect all the views persistent in the state," the Centre's interlocutor said.
About his meeting with Advani, he said he had come to brief him about his five day visit to Jammu. "After my Srinagar visit, I had come to brief him about the views collected by me from the valley. This is an ongoing process," the 66-year-old bureaucrat added.
Asked what was the progress of his mission to the state, Vohra said "it is not mathematics, it is a dialogue process.”
"The views of all the sections have to be heard and synthesised and we have to see after that," he said, adding, "now I have to go to the third area (Ladakh) and people in this area have their viewpoint also." Bureau Report
