New Delhi, Mar 14: Asserting that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is controlling the entire Sangh Parivar, including the BJP, the Congress said that it is projecting Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani as the next prime minister. ''As per the RSS strategy, Advani appears to be heading towards being crowned as the prime minster,'' Congress spokesman Anand Sharma said.
Addressing a press conference here, Sharma said doubts have started arising in people's mind as to who the real leader was in the BJP - Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee or Advani.
''The RSS has deliberately shifted its focus to Advani,'' he said, adding the mobilisation of RSS men in Advani's countrywide ‘Bharat Uday Yatra’ made clear the RSS intentions to see to it that Advani becomes the next prime minister.
According to the Congress, Vajpayee or Advani were the same as far as their style of frequently changing their statements and their association with the RSS ideology were concerned, the spokesman said. Launching a scathing attack on the RSS, Sharma charged that ''the RSS had removed its mask of being a social organistion, which it never was''.
''It is now openly indulging in politics...during the last five years of the BJP-led government being in the power, the RSS has been calling the shots,'' he said.
It had infiltrated into all the sensitive areas. It had openly worked for changing the education system with the government remaining just a ''mask''.
