Infant stolen from Pune hospital found abandoned
Pune, Oct 21: The three-day-old boy, who was stolen from Sasoon General Hospital here two days back, was found abandoned at Shivaji Market area of the city last night, police said today.

The baby, born on October 17 through a cesarean section on one Rajashree Tukaram Sonawane, had been missing from the neo-natal intensive care unit of the hospital since Sunday.
Police said they swung into action following a tip-off that the infant was lying wrapped in a piece of cloth in a bag in the area. The child was rushed to Sasoon Hospital and was later identified by Rajashree's mother, the only family member who had seen the baby.
"The infant is safe and has been kept under medical supervision," hospital sources said. Following the incident, Health Minister Digvijay Khanvilkar, Guardian Minister Vijaysingh Mohite Patil, hospital dean Dr V L Yemul and Police Commissioner A N Roy had discussed the issue at a meeting yesterday.
