Lucknow, Sept 18: The BJP, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress today welcomed the Supreme Court directive asking the CBI to file an FIR against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati in the Rs 175 crore Taj heritage corridor case. State Congress president Jagdambika Pal said here the court had vindicated his party's stand that files in the Taj heritage corridor case were tampered with.

" As Central government is also involved in this scam, the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee should resign on moral grounds," he said. State BJP president, Vinay Katiyar said that his party welcomed the apex court decision.


" It is now upto the Central investigating agency to file an FIR against the guilty and prosecute them," Katiyar told a news agency. Samajwadi Party state president Ram Saran Das claimed in a statement that Mayawati had amassed huge wealth as she was allegedly involved neck deep in corruption and the CBI should expose the corrupt deals of the former chief minister
