Bangalore, Nov 11: Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting today sought to put his Indian counterpart on the defensive, saying Sourav Ganguly would be under pressure since he was returning to the team after an injury-induced break. Ponting also said that his world champion team had devised a plan to quickly dismiss the dependable Rahul Dravid in the crucial TVS Cup triangular series match tomorrow.
"No pressure on us. There might be some amount of pressure on Ganguly as he has not played cricket for quite a while," Ponting told reporters when asked if Australia were under additional pressure because of Ganguly's return to the side.
The Aussie skipper described Rahul Dravid as a very good player who was "hard to stop" but said his team had worked out a general plan to get him out early. "He (Dravid) scored runs quickly in Mumbai. We will try to put him under pressure", he said.
He said openers Mathew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist, rested for the Guwahati tie against New Zealand, were set to return to the squad for tomorrow's day-night match against India. Bureau Report
