Multan, Apr 01: Veteran wicketkeeper and former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has been fined 75 per cent of match fee for showing dissent at the umpire's decision. Moin Khan was charged by Simon Taufel, David Shepherd (on-field umpires) and Asad Rauf (third umpire) with breaching section 2.2, that is, showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision by action or verbal abuse.

Video tape of the incident was viewed and evidence heard from the umpires who laid the charge. This offence falls in level 2 of the ICC code of conduct. After considering the evidence and the circumstances, the match referee Ranjan Madugalle imposed a penalty of 75 per cent of the player's match fee.

The disciplinary hearing was attended by Inzamam-ul-Haq (captain), Haroon Rashid (manager), Moin Khan, Simon Taufel, David Shepherd (on-field umpires), Asad Rauf (third umpire) and the match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
