Tripathi sent to police custody till September 30
Lucknow, Sept 23: The CBI court today remanded former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amar Mani Tripathi, who was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, to police custody till September 30.
Lucknow, Sept 23: The CBI court today remanded former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amar Mani Tripathi, who was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, to police custody till September 30.
Special judicial magistrate CBI R M Yadav ordered that CBI should take custody of the accused from 06 am tomorrow.
Tripathi was remanded to judicial custody till October 06 yesterday. Madhumita's killing on May 09 this year had created a political storm following reports that Tripathi had a romantic relationship with her.
The then Chief Minister Mayawati sacked Tripathi from her cabinet and handed over the case to CBI.
