Six Malaysians held for trying to deposit fake travellers cheques
Ahmedabad, June 24: Six Malaysian nationals, including two women, have been arrested from Gandhidham town of Gujarat for allegedly attempting to deposit fake travellers cheques, officials said today.
Ahmedabad, June 24: Six Malaysian nationals, including two women, have been arrested from Gandhidham town of Gujarat for allegedly attempting to deposit fake travellers cheques, officials said today.
The accused were arrested from a hotel in a pre-dawn operation after they allegedly tried to deposit fake travellers cheques of Rs 16,000 of American Express Bank with the Development Credit Bank, Bhuj, and the State Bank of India, they said.
Identified as Royce Manfold, Janet Fongitan, Wong Kim, Mugaraleon Ange, Aifuwa Roland Besmond and Austin Langhia Beko, some of them possessed fake passports, police said.
The accused would be interrogated thoroughly, they said.
As many as 25 regular cheques of American Express Bank worth over one lakh pounds were recovered from them, police said. Bureau Report
