Mumbai, July 05: President A P J Kalam arrived here tonight on a two-day visit to the metropolis. Kalam, who arrived by a special aircraft at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 10 pm was received by Maharashtra Governor Mohammed Fazal, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister for State for Home Kripashankar Singh, Director General of Police O P Bali and senior officials of the state administration, official sources said.
The President later drove straight to the Sahyadri Guest House in Malabar Hill. Kalam is slated to inaugurate times foundation's "I-I (Individual to Infinity)" Academy, a training institution to offer self-development courses to the individual and community at large, at 10.45 am tomorrow.
Later, he would attend the Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Lecture at NCPA. The function is likely to be attended by captains of the industry and prominent personalities. The President would participate in a symposium on "Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development" at Indira Gandhi Institute of Developmental Research at suburban Goregaon.
Kalam would give away Sangit Natak Akademy awards at a function at Nehru Centre in the evening before departing for New Delhi. Bureau Report
