Vladimir Pestrikov was part of an eight-member Ukranian expedition trying to scale the 8,068 meter-high Himalayan peak when he was hit by a rock on Tuesday, local official Mohammad Musa told news agency by telephone.
The injured climber Sergiy Kovalov was evacuated the same day by an army helicopter to Sakardu, a gateway town to the Himalayan and Karakoram ranges.
This is the second incident during the June-October mountaineering season in which climbers have been killed.
Earlier this month a Spaniard and an Argentinian were killed after they fell into a crevasse while descending from the same peak.
