New Delhi, Dec 03: Telecom Regulatory Authority of India today specified tariffs for the interconnectivity link between Internet Service Providers and Basic Operators called E1/R2. Until now the tariffs for E1/R2 link were forborne, which meant that basic operators had a free hand in determining these tariffs.
Notifying an amendment to Telecom Tariff Order (TTO) streamlining the tariffs to be applicable to E1/R2 connectivity for ISPs, a TRAI statement said that the amendment would be effective from December 03.
"The tariffs relevant in the case of E1/R2 links should be on the basis of the cost of the network elements used which are E1 port, leased line or end link. Thus charges for E1/R2 should cover port charges, tariffs for leased line and end link charges," the statement added. Bureau Report
