Mumbai, July 23: Western silhouettes and saris were the mainstay of Neeta Bharagava's collection. The palette was muted. Petrol blue, grey, tobacco.
Mini's were not as miniscule as we've seen so far this week, nor were the shorts. Not a bum cheek to be seen. Otherwise, skirts skimmed the knee. Net made another appearance in this collection…there's been quite a lot of it this week. Here it appeared at the hemline as a frill. The first section had a gladiatorial feel with metallic designs reminiscent of chain mail.
A second sighting of a device first seen at Sabyasachi: a burnt looking hem. This time on a kurta. Bias flips inset into a skirt hem, put this collection in tune with the season's trends. The palette ranged from pinks through magenta through purple and red. The showstopper was a red sari with a cutwork border and choli.
