New Delhi, May 02: Former Delhi High Court judge Shamit Mukherjee, arrested and remanded to CBI custody for his alleged involvement in the DDA scam, today moved the high court seeking bail on ground of ill-health of his wife and mother.
When his bail petition was mentioned before the chief justice of the high court, he directed it to be heard by Justice R C Chopra.
Mukherjee, who resigned last month from the post of the additional judge, had been accused by CBI of writing judgements to favour certain persons linked with the DDA scam for monetary and other considerations.
The former judge, arrested on Wednesday, was remanded to seven days CBI custody by a city court yesterday to facilitate his further interrogation.
