New Delhi, Oct 15: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today ruled out any alliance with BSP in the coming assembly elections in the state saying that congress will be going it alone. "There is no alliance with the BSP and congress will be going it alone in all the 90 assembly seats in the state. It is a straight contest between congress and BJP," he told reporters here. Referring to the attacks on him by BJP, he said, "If they target individuals, the person stands to gain. Take the case of (late Prime Minister) Indira Gandhi and Laloo Yadav. Both were targetted by the opposition." Appearing confident of winning the assembly elections, he brushed aside the threat of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the state while describing congress leader Arvind Netam who joined NCP as "professional defector."

Asked whether the party would have an alliance with BSP for Lok Sabha elections, Jogi said, "It is for the party high command to decide on it."
On the selection of candidates for the assembly elections he said "electoral merit would be the yardstick for deciding the candidates."
