Biharshrif, Mar 04: Police have identified Nalanda and seven other districts as 'hypersensitive' for the coming Lok Sabha elections and 50 companies of para-military force have been requisitioned to ensure peaceful polls, Director General of Police W H Khan said on Thursday.
Besides Nalanda, which is represented by Defence Minister and Janata Dal(U) president George Fernandes, the other districts identified were Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Purnea and Bhojpur, he said.

The Election Commission and the Union Home Ministry have been informed about it and asked to provide at least 50 companies of para-military force.

The police superintendents of all these districts have been instructed to prepare a list of anti-social elements, including those caught indulging in illegal practices during the polls last time.

They have also been directed to conduct a general check on all the licensed arms in the district and withdraw the licence of violators, he added. Bureau Report
