Mayawati knew of Taj project, claims former UP govt counsel
Lucknow Sept 04: Former Uttar Pradesh government counsel in the Taj heritage corridor case in the Supreme Court, Ajay Agarawal today alleged that former Chief Minister, Mayawati, was involved in the project since its very inception.

"Mayawati was in the know of the details of the entire project since the very beginning," he told reporters here.
Agarwal also claimed that when he drew her attention to various alleged acts of corruption committed by former Environment Secretary, R K Sharma, "she took offence and removed me from the post of government counsel". He said he had already deposed the CBI which is probing the case.
Giving details of the project, Agarwal said that he was going to inform the investigating agency about the details of Mayawati's allegedly newly-acquired properties in Delhi.
He claimed that the CBI had asked him to provide information regarding her property. Bureau Report
