Bangalore, Mar 13: Criticising the Congress for basking in its legacy, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today said that the party is ''unsuited for governance''. He said “the Congress lacks purpose, direction, values and leadership. It is inherently unsuited to the task of providing India wholesome environment for channelling its energies”. Adding that the maladministration of the Krishna government in Karnataka ''stems from the complete erosion of the culture of governance in the Congress. Advani also stated that the BJP, which under the leadership of Vajpayee had given India stability, security and development, was determined to take development to ''newer heights'' and make the country a great power.
Stating that the competition among the states was healthy, he said that Karnataka's march towards development was at a disadvantage because its government was ''incapable of rising to the occasion''. Bureau Report
