New Delhi, Dec 04: Two years after a two-member Lashkar-e-Toiba squad stormed the historic Red Fort, a Delhi court today ordered framing of charges in the shootout case in which two army men and a civilian were killed.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) M S Sabbarwal, who had reserved his order on the point of charge on November 20 after hearing Marathan arguments from special public prosecutor a s Ahluwalia and the 11 accused, fixed December 11 for formally framing the charges when he would ask the accused if they would like to plead guilty or prefer trial. According to the court order, Pakistani national and main accused Ashfaq has been charged with waging war against the Government of India (Sec 121-A), criminal conspiracy (Sec 120-B) murder (Sec -302), cheating (Sec -420), Forgery (Sec 468) and using as genuine a forged document (Sec- 471) under IPC. Besides, he has been charged under Section 14 of Foreigners Act, Sections 4 and 5 of Explosives Act as also Arms Act.
