Wagah, June 12: Border Security Force today recovered heroin worth Rs 2 crores in international market and arrested a Kenyan and a Nigerian here, intelligence sources here said.
The purest form of heroin powder was brought here from Pakistan.
A senior intelligence official said BSF, on a tip off, had alerted the Customs officials here about the arrival of two foreign nationals from Pakistan.
The foreign nationals crossed over to India around 10.30 am today and were straight away taken to the Customs section for frisking.
During frisking, nothing objectionable was found in their luggage. Customs authorities repeatedly frisked their luggage besides scanning it through the x-ray machine without any success.
But sustained interrogation jointly by the Custom staff and Punjab police broke the foreign nationals who reportedly admitted to possession of two kilograms of heroin.
The duo told during the interrogation that before leaving Pakistan, they filled the heroin powder in 200 empty capsules and inserted them in the body through the rectum.
To extract the narcotics, the two foreign nationals were made to eat bananas which forced the narcotic-containing capsules to come out. Both the foreign nationals were carrying 100 capsules each in their rectum, the sources said.
Punjab police arrested the Kenyan national identified as Keenedy Ogero Marada while Customs authorities nabbed the Nigerian. The Kenyan national was allegedly holding a fake passport.
