Karnal, June 17: Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala today said the issue of the release of the jailed state Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Ghasi Ram Nain was not under the ambit of the state government "as such decisions are taken by the court of law". On the ongoing agitation launched by some BKU leaders and workers at Kandela village to pressurise the state government to release Nain arrested under treason charges, Chautala who was visiting Indri said that the government would not allow anybody to take the law in his own hands and the people would also not be put to inconvenience. Chautala criticised those who were allegedly trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state by blocking roads at Kandela village. On the issue of recruitment of sub-inspectors in Haryana Police, Chautala said that such recruitment were being made by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and those falling in the merit were chosen for the job.
RPI MLA from Palwal Karan Singh Dalal at a press conference in Chandigarh yesterday had accused Chautala of favouritism in the selection of some sub-inspectors.
Chautala termed these allegations as baseless. Bureau Report
