New Delhi, Nov 23: Indian Airlines today agreed to provide special customised travel arrangements at a discounted tariff for Indian cricketers for a period of one year. Under an agreement reached here, Indian Airlines will become the official domestic carrier of the cricket board and in turn provide a number of travel benefits to the Indian team during all the tournaments within the country, a press release said.
The junior cricketers will also benefit from the deal while travelling for playing for India.
The agreement, signed between Sunil Arora, chairman and managing director of the Indian Airlines, and Rajiv Shukla, chairman of communication and coordination committee of BCCI, follows a recent meeting between civil aviation minister Shahnawaz Hussain and board president Jagmohan Dalmiya which conceptualised such a tie-up, the release said.
