Vadodara, July 31: In order to expand its international operations, Bank of Baroda will be opening branches in United States of America, China, Tanzania and Malaysia, according to its chairman and managing director P S Shenoy. Shenoy, who was in the Annual General Meeting of the bank on Wednesday, said the bank's international operations were spread over 16 countries which contributed 11 per cent to bank's operating profit and constituted 13.2 per cent of total business during the financial year ending March 31.
He said that bank's net Non Performing assets (NPA) will be brought down to zero by 2005.
The bank also proposes to enter insurance business in near future and has appointed DSP Merill Lynch as consultant.
He said that 86 per cent of bank's business has been computerised. Bureau Report
