Seoul, Aug 29: Hyundai Motor, South Korea's largest automaker, named Park Hwang Ho as its new president to replace Kim Dong Jin, who was appointed vice chairman. Kia Motors Corp., which is 36.3 per cent owned by Hyundai Motor, also named Yoon Kook Jin as president, replacing Kim Noi Myung, who will become Kia's vice chairman.
Hyundai Automotive Group, which controls Hyundai Motor and Kia, is trying to strengthen its overseas operations as part of its effort to become one of the world's five leading auto-makers by 2010. More than half of Hyundai Motor's and Kia's sales are exports.
Park is the senior executive vice president for Hyundai Motor's production development division and Yoon is senior executive vice president of human resources and general affairs at Kia. Bureau Report
