Dhar, June 05: Dhar district Congress president Mujeeb Qureshi today accused Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Bhavnaben Chikhalia of violating the ASI Act of 1959 by the manner in which she performed puja at Bhojshala.
In a statement issued here, Qureshi, who is also state Congress minorities cell general secretary, strongly objected to the way the minister performed puja at the Bhojshala by violating Section 16 (1) of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) Act of 1959, "despite being told about it by the ASI officials and the district administration".

He urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to direct the Government to register a case against the minister in this regard as she has also violated her oath as a minister.

Meanwhile, the Muslim community has demanded that the district administration take action against BJP leader Uma Bharti for disturbing peace and communal harmony during her visit to Bhojshala on Tuesday.

They issued a signed statement against Bharti and urged the district administration to take action against her.
