Poland has offered to supply a fresh batch of 80 armoured recovery vehicles (ARVs) to India, a leading defence weekly has reported.
The contract for the 80 ZM Bumar-Labedy WZT-3 vehicles is worth around $75 million, the 'Jane's Defence Weekly' reported quoting sources in New Delhi.
India previously purchased 44 WZT-3 vehicles in a contract worth around $32 million. They were delivered to Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) between December 2000 and September 2001.
Slovak ZTS Tees Defence Martin has also submitted a bid to deliver additional VT-72B ARVs that are already in service with the Indian Army, the report said.
The report added that the Slovak offer is apparently a few million dollars expensive than the Polish bid. Bureau Report
