Mufti asks EU nations to allow their citizens to visit J&K
Srinagar, Sept 02: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today urged the European countries to withdraw the advisories to their citizens against travelling to the state saying it would be their greatest contribution in accelerating the peace process and promotion of tourism.

Sayeed, during his meeting with a delegation of
Delhi-based envoys of the European Union, impressed upon them
to persuade their respective governments to withdraw the
travel advisories issued to their citizens for not visiting
the state.
"Sporadic incidents do take place all over the world as in Kashmir. However, the atmosphere here is much more relaxed now," he said.
Stating that the normalisation process had strengthened, he said a number of foreign tourists were visiting Kashmir even for trekking.
He apprised the envoys of various steps being taken to speed up socio-economic development in the state and said several high-profile projects, including rail link, have been taken up for generating employment and economic activity.
