Mumbai, Aug 09: Rejecting Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's offer for a judicial probe in graft charges levelled by Anna Hazare and state minister Suresh Jain against each other, the noted anti-corruption crusader today demanded a full-fledged CBI probe into the allegations.
He said that only a probe by the CBI will bring out the truth in the charges and counter-charges.
''Everything will be clear and come to fore after the CBI probe,'' he told hundreds of his supporters at the Azad Maidan near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in South Mumbai here.
Hazare has levelled charges of corruption against Food and Civil Supplies Minister Suresh Jain, Irrigation Minister Padmasinh Patil, Minister of State for Housing Nawab Malik and minister of State for General Administration department Vijaykumar Gavit.
All the ministers belong to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a leading partner in the Congress-led Democratic Front.
Jain, the NCP heavyweight from Jalgaon, on the other hand has launched a fast-unto-death at the Azad Maidan demanding the arrest of Hazare for alleged irregularities in trusts controlled by the social activist.
Hazare, before starting his march towards the August Kranti Maidan from where 61 years ago Mahatma Gandhi launched the Quit India movement, said he will continue with his agitation till the Maharashtra government recommended a CBI inquiry into his charges and the charges levelled against him by Jain.
