Mumbai,Dec 26: Under attack for his statement that "Gujarat experience" will be replicated elsewhere, BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said Hindutva will not be BJP`s poll plank for the forthcoming assembly elections and that his remarks have been "misconstrued". "Gujarat experience means collective work is a key to success", Naidu told a news conference here.
In Gujarat the campaigning, media, publicity and logistics were managed in a highly professional manner and by replicating Gujarat the party means implementing the same strategy elsewhere and not as projected by a section of media, the BJP president said. BJP would project its performance and the campaign thrust would be on development and good governance for the elections to a few states next year and 2004 Lok Sabha polls, he said. However, the BJP president said if the opposition took up the Hindutva issue then BJP would give a fitting reply. Bureau Report
