Make constructions utilsing drought relief funds permanent: CRC
Indore, June 25: Central Relief Commissioner (CRC), Sudeep Banerjee, has directed that constructions carried out utilising drought relief fund be made permanent.
Indore, June 25: Central Relief Commissioner (CRC), Sudeep Banerjee, has directed that constructions carried out utilising drought relief fund be made permanent.
Chairing a meeting to review the drought situation in
Indore division yesterday, Banerjee not only directed to
complete the remaining work under the drought relief but also
asked the officials to make permanent the properties created
under the fund, official sources said here today.
He also directed that relief work be continued after June 30 in those areas which witnessed less rainfall and where only one crop is produced.
The collectors were asked to ensure that no machine is used for carrying out drought relief works so as to give employment to the needy, he said and asked them to probe whether at any place machines were employed. If found so, disciplinary action should be taken against the concerned persons.
The divisional commissioner Ram Sajivan informed the meeting that except Barwani, no other district witnessed drought situation in the division. However, the relief works have been started at places where there was no drought but migration took place, he added.
