The Ayodhya issue on Tuesday rocked Parliament with Opposition members asking government to spell out steps to deal with the grave situation at the disputed site even as Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee assured that necessary measures had been taken to ensure that nothing untoward happened there. After a spate of adjournments amid uproarious scenes, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day with members from Congress, Left Parties, Samajwadi Party and RJD showing no signs of relenting on the matter. Angry Opposition members raised the issue in both houses as soon as they assembled and demanded suspension of the question hour to have a debate on it. Responding to members` demand, Vajpayee in Lok Sabha said that the Government was prepared for a discussion but there was no no justification for suspension of the question hour.
