Bhopal, Sept 22: Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang, allegedly involved in supply of fake medicines, with the arrest of four of its key members here. Superintendent of Police, Arun Pratap sigh told reporters here that acting on a tip-off, the four -- including the `kingpin' Pawan Kumar Saxena and his brother Chetan of Bhopal -- were caught during a joint raid by police and drug control officials at a flat in Kolar Road area last night.

He said that the gang, operating in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh without any licence, used to procure cheap medicines from Indore and then put labels of costly medicines before selling them at different places, including Mumbai, through their agents.

A huge quantity of fake medicines, including more than 12,500 injections without labels and a large number of fake labels and wrappers were seized from the flat besides a jeep, four mobile phones and two motor-cycles, he said.
The other two arrested gang members were identified as Surendra Kumar of Indore and Sanjay Malyali of Bhopal, he said.
