July 13: The 27-year-old who has missed the cut in his last four events, put all that behind him with eight birdies in his second round for a five-under-par 65.

Boosted by a run of five birdies from the fifth, Jacobson moved to 11under at the Loch Lomond course.
It was a good day for Sweden as Carl Petterson and Richard Johnson also put themselves in contention on six-under.
Pettersson carded a five-under-par 66 while Johnson finished with a 65.

Jacobson has yet to win a tournament but his five second-place finishes on the European Tour are the most by a player yet to win.
"I haven't done well lately and been out of form but I gave myself a bit of credit for my first round and tried to build up my confidence," he said.

"My putting and my iron play have been good which have helped me make birdies."

Sandy Lyle gave the home Loch Lomond crowd something to cheer about when he shot a 68 to move to seven under for the tournament. Bureau Report
