Delhi, Dec 02: Zee News exposé has already started sending tremors across the length and breadth of Indian polity. While Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has vowed a thorough investigation of the whole issue, Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh has called for CBI probe into the seizure of a huge cache of Indian and foreign stamps and currency notes in a Nashik home. Shinde has already provided a security cover to Zee Correspondent Yogesh Khare and Cameraman Ravi Bagul who exposed the unbelievable as a call of duty towards the nation. It is noteworthy here that Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who also holds the Home portfolio, had promised immunity to Zee duo yesterday only.
Maharashtra Police was prompted into immediate action immediately after the story was flashed on the channel. Since today morning, Police has already raided various premises of Abhay Bansal alias Prasoon Aggarwal. His residences in Panvel and Godrej Colony were raided by Maharashtra Police. The Daffodil Building flat in Panvel is in Bansal’s mother’s name. In Panvel forage, more than 200 boxes of Indian and foreign stamps and currency notes have been recovered. Zee is continuously receiving congratulatory messages from all over the nation with people appreciating the brave feat of the Zee team. The team is doing a meticulous follow up of this shocking yet revealing story. It promises to pursue the scam till all entangled threads are unraveled and all loose ends are fastened.

On Monday, in what could be the biggest and the most shattering exposé in the history of journalism, Zee News correspondent Yogesh Khare uncovered a huge racket of foreign and Indian currency and stamps in Nashik.
Yogesh Khare and Ravi Bagul raided the residence of Abhay Bansal and found what has the potential to unseat the economy of many nations including our own. They unearthed cartons full of foreign and Indian currency and stamps packed well as if ready to be exported soon. The currency was of nations as varied as Czechoslovakia, Netherlands, Zambia, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Yogesh scanned the boxes to see what has never been seen on camera before. The haul might run in several thousand crores. Zee News unveiled what Maharashtra Police and Home departments could not.
Abhay Bansal is already under arrest in connection with stamp paper case. Mumbai Police arrested and raided his other house in Nashik some time back. On November 26, stamps worth Rs 72 lakhs were seized from there. Why the other residence was not raided then is beyond anybody`s comprehension. Sensing more than the obvious in the whole matter, Yogesh and Ravi decided to probe it on their own. Not fearing for their lives, they entered the house-Padma bungalow- through the window.
Under tremendous pressure, many broadcasters had put Zee News channel off air across Maharashtra yesterday.
So, on the very day when the whole nation was tracking the assembly polls in four major states and people were busy in exercising their ‘right’, Zee News was fulfilling a greater ‘duty’ towards the nation. It has opened the can of worms. This might be just the tip of the iceberg.
The response of the viewers clearly indicates that Zee News has lived upto the expectations of this nation being a responsible media house. Nation wants the rotten system to be cleaned up at all costs and Zee will continue its bold movement against the ills of the society through fearless journalism.
