Ajmer, Nov 08: Amidst chanting of Vedic mantras and conching of shells about two and a half lakh pilgrims today took holy dip in Pushkar Lake near here on the occasion of 'Kartik Purnima'. Braving the morning chill, pilgrims in colourful traditional Rajasthani dresses crowded the banks of the lake this morning and after taking a holy dip offered prayers at various temples.
The biggest congregation was at Brahma temple where over 4,000 foreign tourists witnessed the devotees performing Hindu rituals. Devotees gave alms and distributed food to sadhus and beggars on the roadsides. Bureau Report
