New Delhi, Jan 14: PDP and congress today decided to have seat-adjustment in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir as Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today met president of the alliance partner Sonia Gandhi here. The two leaders discussed the joint strategy to be adopted in the Lok Sabha polls at six seats of the state during the 30-minute meeting, held amid speculation of expansion of the year-old ministry. The meeting, also attended by senior congress leader Manmohan Singh, took note of implementation of the Common Minimum Programme of the coalition government, particularly "significant movement" in the political agenda on dialogue to address internal and external dimensions of the problem and restoration of peace with dignity, a state government spokesman said. "They discussed the overall situation in the state in the light of initiation of dialogue," he said, adding Gandhi expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the government.

"The leaders noted the feel-good factor witnessed in the backdrop of dialogue," the spokesman said.

Sayeed told Gandhi that his government was giving focus to economic front and is trying to achieve fiscal autonomy. The problem of unemployment in the state also came up for discussion.
