Patna, Oct 07: NDA leaders, including Samata Party chief George Fernandes and railway minister Nitish Kumar, today made a scathing attack on the Bihar government saying that the Centre's efforts for economic development of the state was not bearing desired results due to lack of matching efforts by the Rabri Devi ministry. The Centre is making all efforts to strengthen the infrastructure structure of Bihar by approving numerous projects in the field of railway, power, road, health and others, so that the state could develop economically particularly after its bifurcation, Fernandes said.

But the lack of cooperation from the state government is coming as a big hindrance in the way, he said addressing a gathering after inaugurating three-day vendor development programme-cum exhibition here.

A good law and order situation and efficiency of bureaucracy are the necessary conditions for creating congenial atmosphere for economic development, but unfortunately both are missing in Bihar, he lamented.
By way of example, he said, anti-socials demolished around one km of boundary wall put up around the site for setting up of an ordinance factory at Rajgir in Bihar's Nalanda district. This is the situation of law and order in the state, he said.

Samata Party leader Nitish Kumar said the apathy of the Bihar government could be gauged from the fact that despite repeated reminders none of the state ministers turned up for such an important function to discuss the state's economic development.
He alleged many central projects were not taking off due to lukewarm approach of the state government
