Karimnagar, Aug 21: Thirteen naxalites, including three self-styled deputy commanders of the outlawed people's war group today surrendered before police here. Seven women naxals -- six belongs to PWG and one to CPI(M-L), were among the surrendered ultras, Warangal range DIG Krishna Prasad told reporters.


Among the surrendered, Durgam Rajeshwari alias Srilatha carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 while Vemula Ramesh alias Murli carried a cash reward of rs 20,000 on his head.

District Superintendent of Police R S Praveen Kumar, who was also present at the press conference, said the PWG is encouraging child marriages and using the minor girls for their protection as human chain.

Those surrendered include Nukala Ravi alias Mahesh (24) deputy commander of east division of PWG, Vemula Ramesh alias Murali (26), deputy commander local guerilla squad, Manthani area and Kodipe Srinu alias Bhoopathi (23) deputy commander (LGs) Mahamuttharam area.
